About Us
Our beginnings.....
MBJ was created in 2019, from borrowing a family members sewing machine and wanting to make a few accessories for my daughters upcoming competition.
Then lockdown hit. Rather than be sad, I threw myself into learning all that I could, improving my skills, taking online courses. From those shaking few months of learning about the skill came the photos I posted, which became MBJ!
Today, MBJ is a fulltime business and going from strength to strength supplying dancewear for many types of dance styles, from beginners to champs and all over the country!

MBJ is all about being fearless and unique and true to who you are.
From first consultation to final fit, everything is done with the dancer in mind.
Using quality fabrics and materials to create your dream costume.
As a dance mum and a dance teacher, I know the cost of dance, which is why I always try and keep my prices reasonable and try to work within budgets on costumes to enable you to get what you want at a price that doesn't break the bank.
Jo
is an IDTA registered teacher with over 20 years experience of dance, who competed at champ level, has taught for more than 15 years and has been a proud dance mum. Jo is the owner, creative director and designer of MBJ
Laura
is Jo's junior assistant, and daughter, and the inspiration behind the MBJ brand. Laura is studying Art and design and hopes to follow in her mums footsteps one day.
Anne-Marie
is our newest seamstress to the team. She has been dressmaking for years and is learning the ropes of costume making.
